Morning all..
A strange dream I had last night..We lost on Penalties, AGAIN..Oh wait.
I don’t know what is more frustrating. Our inability to string more that two passes together..or Joe Hart’s Penalty face…Blowing my chances of a single life. How UN-Sexy. My Wife was in love with you..You could of done me a favour. All joking aside – Just taking last night into account, we just seemed to bottle it ? Rooney looked like he was running on empty, Ashley Young, well, seems to lack confidence – another one who can’t handle the boo boys. Players like Scotty (I hate when commentators call him that) Parker. Milner, Carrol gave there all…’stood up’ to be counted. Just It wasn’t enough. Steven Gerrard, John Terry *Hides*, Ashley Cole as usual had brilliant tournaments. But in my opinion, Terry’s last..His lack of pace really showed last night. He kept Balotelli on side, on countless occasions..Just to be in the correct place to save his arse – JT smash and grab style. Very Micah Richards like (sorry to go off track) I think that’s why he did/doesn’t get picked. He attacks like a steam train but he can’t defend for toffee. Because of his pace he has the ability to recover, if he just defended correctly in the first place, he wouldn’t need to recover ‘Hero Style’…
Pirlo - Take. A. Bow. A footballing masterclass. Milan must be devastated. BUT we respected him, too much. Time, space you name it - we offered it ALL on a silver platter. That penalty was out of this world. obviously if Hart had saved it we wouldn’t have been banging on about it – but sadly he didn’t. *High -fives Pirlo*
One penalty to another. Ashley Young – ‘Karma’ - For me, he deserved that miss (Harsh, yes) diving to get Maggio booked, so he misses the semi-final. Isn’t acceptable. Firstly it doesn’t look good on us a country and…isn’t going to help his reputation. do goes down like a toddler..
Clearly there is a void in our technical ability. It turned into a kids games/training session. apparently our most succesful pass completion was between Joe Hart and Andy Carrol…Says it all really. I think the main problem was - all over the pitch we lost our individual battles. Abate gave Glen Johnson a lesson in attacking fullback play. Nocerino, who was rubbish against Arsenal – He missed a sitting on that night also, gave Parker the run around. Balotelli held up the ball, made runs in and behind the back four - he gave JT a torrid time. All I can say is we where lucky Italy didn’t have a striker or we would have been punished a lot earlier. Giuseppe Rossi has been a big miss for them. I was shocked (But delighted) when Di Natale didn’t come on…So when someone called Diamanti a West Ham reject I knew it was written in the stars…. *palm to face*
BalotITALY – Is he ready for international football yet ? Clearly football-wise he is all there. Technically fantastic – look at his penalty again. Just to immature, he just thinks everyone is out to get him. I’m glad we don’t have a player like that. I would be interested to see what Arsene could do with him…
On the tournament as a whole – I don’t know what else Roy could have done..He brought the team together as ‘one’. Got us attacking, defending as a unit. Clearly organisation can only take you so far. I would have been interested to see what would have happened if Chamberlain would have played and Gerrard pushed forward. Carrol up top. A ‘perfect’ Premiership combination ?
Carrol
Chamberlian Gerrard Walcott
Milner Parker
Well we will never know..
In my opinion the only major decision Roy got wrong was brining Rooney straight back into the fold. Clearly wasn’t firing on all cylinders and yet really perform on the big stage.
Onto the 2014 world cup qualifiers..
Hart
Walker Smalling Jones Cole
Wilshere Cleverley
Chamberlain Rooney Walcott
Welbeck
Let me your team…
The new boy speaks ! – Oliver Giroud.
“I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal — it is something that represents so much for me. I’ve always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and Arsenal are a great club with many French players.”
Looking forward to seeing what he can do..
enough of my rambling… Have a good day.
Cheers for reading
Try…to be happy
