So Giroud is pretty much Complete…

Wenger “Giroud didn’t play much (at the Euros so far), but he’s going to be an Arsenal player 90 per cent next season. “I think he has exceptional potential and will integrate very well in our collective and our way of playing. “He is a real team player and knows how to combine with other players and I’m sure he will do well with us.”

If you don’t know – Oliver Giroud is a 25-Year-Old French Striker, who plays his football in france for the newly crowned champions Montpellier. Giroud has 33 goals in 77 appearances for Montpellier also contributing 11 assists. He has Eight caps and one goal for the national side. He was named the league’s top scorer despite being tied on goals with Paris Saint-Germain attacker Nene,he was named the league’s top scorer by the Ligue de Football Professionnel due to finishing with more goals in open play. Giroud is a 6ft 3, left footed centre forward. Great in the air and for someone of his size frame, very mobile. He has performed very well over the last year. But Ligue 1 defending isn’t the same as the Premier League. I’m not going to sit here and say we are signing a ready-made super-striker BUT he has the potential to a great striker for us. then again so did Chamakh. Giroud will need time…But he will shine !

Sao Paulo admit they cannot afford to sign Denilson permanently….

All I can say is this is the ugly side of our Philosphy..When the players don’t turn out to be what Arsene and co thought…We have massively average players on our books with equally massive wages. Denilson has a contract with us until 2014 so a bit of rough maths.. 40k a week for two years is just under 4 million. Not great. is it. I don’t want to ruin your friday, so don’t add Squillaci, Bendtner, Vela to that estimate….

In other news Oxlade-Chamberlain is going to be offered a bumper contract. My first reaction to this is - Not a good idea. He probably has a lengthy contract anyway so why does he need anyone ? Yes he is one of the brightest talents in English football but he hasn’t done anything..yet. He barely played any games last season. Before you say anything, He did tear AC Milan apart single-handedly… But what is going to happen.. for example we pay him,say 45k a week.. he has an amazing season then wants an even bigger contract at NINETEEN. or even gets injured ? I think we should give him another year to let him develope..take the pressure of him, let him enjoy his football…He is a real, real talent.
